Largest cement company in the world achieves an increase of 4.1% in revenue.
Third-quarter results for LafargeHolcim, the world's largest cement and other materials producer, grew 4.1% year-on-year this year, posting revenues of € 5.95 billion.
In addition, the company also announced discussions with the Pretoria Portland Cement (PPC) board of directors regarding a possible transaction in Africa.
No agreement has yet been concluded with PPC, which is a leader in the cement industry on the continent, with a presence in the southern and eastern subregions of Africa.
EBITDA verified by LafargeHolcim in the third quarter grew by 5.9%, reaching approximately 1,500 million euros. In the accumulated of the year, this figure grew by 9.2% compared to the same period last year.
The company stated that better prices, cost discipline and corporate synergies were the factors responsible for better profit margins both in the third quarter and so far in 2017.
